A FAST food vendor is offering a reward to catch the tyre slashers roaming on a Droitwich estate.

Malcolm Ward will give £100 for information leading to the arrest of the people responsible for slashing tyres on his transit minibus.

On Friday, April 25 he discovered two tyres had been slashed on the minibus and two on his Isuzu Trooper jeep. Two windows on the minibus had also been smashed.

They had been parked overnight on the Chawson Estate at Bower Hill. Around 20 cars can be parked in the car park at any one time.

"We're always having trouble in the car park," said Mr Ward, who runs a lay-by fast food outlet.

"We're trying to get the council to put in a CCTV camera and even offering to pay for it ourselves.

"It's not just me who has been victimised. It might be a coincidence that both of my vehicles were targeted as they were in different parts of the car park. These people must be caught as they're dangerous. They're roaming the estate carrying knives."

Mr Ward woke up at 7am on Friday to discover the damage. It meant he was late getting to his pitch to start dishing-up breakfasts for hungry drivers.

"I had to call a couple of friends to get my trailer out," said Mr Ward, who lives on The Tyning.

"I got there an hour later than normal and missed a lot of business. It's cost me £300 to get them back on the road."

Worcester police are investigating the criminal damage and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 08457 444888 quoting incident number 34C/250403.
