AN elderly woman had to be cut free from her car after an accident on Icknield Street Drive on Sunday.
The crash happened at about 5.25pm when the 78-year-old woman was driving along Icknield Street Drive and collided with the roundabout close to the Washford Mill Pub.
She was trapped in the red Rover metro and had to be cut free by the fire brigade.
A diversion was put in place while the road was closed.
The woman was taken to the Alexandra Hospital with cuts and bruises and was kept in for observation.
