Alcester eased into the next round of the cup after a comfortable win over Colebrook B.
The home four secured a 45 shot advantage with Peter Barber 21-4 and Ron Hawksley the best efforts.
The Away four earned an 18 shot advantage with John Alderson (21-3) and Chris Hollins (21-6) sealing a comfortable 63 shot margin for the Heart of England side.
The Yardley Wood Alcester side found themselves pitched against Selly Park in the first round of the cup.
Despite having four winners each Alcester could not match Selly's strength and were dumped out by 17 shots.
Best for Alcester were Dave Roberts and Jean Bannister, both 21-16.
Meanwhile their league campaign got underway with a trip to Black Horse.
It proved to be a good performance, despite only three winners they stuck to their guns and lost by the slimmest margin of four shots.
Dave Hovell carried the flag for Alcester with a fine 21-10, supported by Renny Bannister (21-13) and Peter Barber (21-20).
Alcester B were at home to Wythall who quickly established superiority.
The hosts managed only three winners with Ken Harvey (21-16), supported by a 21-18 for David Whittington, ground out over a marathon 35 ends, and a nail biting 21-20 from Gordon Lycett. All the remaining games went Wythall's way, giving them victory by 22 shots.
