AS payers of council tax, and especially road tax, we should be allowed to know what the new layout at Sainsbury's island has cost.
Not just the paint but the whole cost, from the planning stage to the sourcing of contractors, the committee stage and finally the implementation.
After all, we footed the bill.
Perhaps then we can compare its worth against the time wasted in queues of traffic, the extra fuel wasted and the concentrated pollution caused by the queues.
And now, flush with excitement at the chaos caused, they are planning to create havoc at McDonald's island.
