TOMORROW will be a nail-biting day for the big political parties as voters go to the polls in the local elections.
The Tories will be hoping to capitalise on gains made last year at the expense of Labour and if they take three more seats, will win overall control of the council.
The Liberal Democrats are also hoping to make inroads following a much publicised win in the Winyates ward last year, where they ousted long-time Labour leader Albert Wharrad.
The current make-up of the council sees Labour holding 14 seats, the Tories 12 and Lib Dems three.
Voter apathy could play a big part so candidates will be hoping for a better turnout than the 29.8 per cent of electors who exercised their vote last year.
Thirty polling stations will be open tomorrow from 8am-9pm.
There is no election in the Feckenham ward this year and no independent or green candidates are standing for any of the seats.
Meanwhile in Studley, only two candidates are contesting the seat - Tony Cronin for the Liberal Democrats and Heather Wersocki for the Tories.
