BROMSGROVE Cricket Club First XI made the perfect start to their competitive season with a 62-run victory against rivals Worcester in the ECB club cricket knock out last Sunday.
Following a rain delay, Bromsgrove batted first and struggled as Simon Keyte and Paul Duffy went for one and zero respectively.
Nick Davies launched a series of boundaries, including four sixes, but was finally dismissed for 71 after a partnership of 124 as Bromsgrove reached a credible 182-3.
Bromsgrove took the key wicket of Darryl Mitchell early on.
In miserly spells, Mark Evenson conceded just 13 runs from eight overs and Campbell took 2-16 from nine overs.
Kish Patel also helped himself to four wickets as the innings closed at 120-8.
