TWO Hereford Rugby Club players have been handed suspensions by a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel following a stormy Midlands Two West game at Bedworth.

Scrum-half Ben Jenkins was banned for six weeks and lock Chris Fairley for three weeks after both admitted charges of punching during the match in February, which was abandoned after 14 minutes due to a shortage of front row forwards.

Bedworth prop Gareth Tregilgas received a 14-week ban after being found guilty of one offence of stamping and two of punching, while hooker Chris Leonard was suspended for three weeks after admitting a punching charge. All bans will start on August 30.

The match will not be replayed as the outcome does not affect promotion and relegation issues.
