BROMSGROVE Rovers duo Gary Hackett and Jon Ford will hold clear-the-air talks with chairman Tom Herbert tomorrow.

Rumours have been circulating that the management team could be replaced despite overseeing promotion from the Midland Alliance last season and a guaranteed top-four finish in the Dr Martens Western Division this year.

Hackett confirmed they were meeting Herbert tomorrow to clarify their position ahead of the final match of the season against Swindon Supermarine at the Victoria Ground on Saturday.

"Our position is very cloudy and uncertain on top of what has been a very successful season," said Hackett.

"There have been all sorts of rumours flying around which we are aware of and we will sort it out one way or the other on tomorrow with clear the air talks.

"I think we deserve another crack at it and I've had managers from other clubs such as Solihull and Redditch with bigger budgets than ours calling us and they can't believe we are facing this kind of problem in light of what we've achieved.

"We were promoted last season which was a remarkable job and could possibly finish third in our first season back in the Dr Martens Western Division.

"We've got the basis of a young team to move forward next season but whether it's with myself and Jon Ford we will have to wait and see.

"We did have a bad spell, there's no getting away from it, but we are finishing strongly and have a great chance of taking third spot."

Rovers started the season in blistering form and were undefeated in their opening 11 games and were leading until a poor run of games during February and March.

Herbert has dismissed the rumours and said the position would be reviewed at the end of the season.
