Worcester Norton bid to enter their second national girls' final in successive years tonight.
Last season the U15 team became national champions in a nail-biting penalty shoot-out at the National Stadium, Milton Keynes.
This time the U18 team are hoping for glory when they take on Clifton from Bristol in the semi-final at Nunnery Wood Sports Centre (7pm).
Worcester are under no illusion about the severity of their task as Clifton, the premier club in the West region, will field a number of England junior internationals.
Worcester's strength will be the experience of seven of the team (Tina Evans, Charlene Mason, Fiona Nash, Jenny Rogers, Jackie Russell, Charlotte Tysler and Sophie Wood) who are regulars in the first team squad which won the Midland Premier League title by 12 points and are presently engaged in the play-off matches for the National League.
They have also all represented the Midlands in the National Championships and are used to the big occasion.
Suzanne Symonds, Vicky Kovacs, Becca Saunders, Polly Christian and Lucy Allen make up the rest of the squad and they have all been involved in the second team's successful run to take the Worcestershire Division One title. A thrilling encounter is in prospect.
Mason, Nash, Rogers and Russell were also members of last season's cup winning U15 team, who won the junior team of the year award at the recent Worcestershire All Sports Partnership Awards ceremony.
