Broadway United Reserves became the first team to win an internal cup on penalties in the Birdseye Sports Evesham League, lifting the Bluck Cup in a superb final at Common Road.

Before a large crowd Broadway started brighter but failed to take chances until five minutes into the second half when Rob Roulstone gave them the lead. With time running out Mountinneers equalised from a free kick to take the game into extra time.

Broadway regained the lead when substitute Alcock headed home only for Churchman to level almost immediately.

The penalty shootout was eventually won by Broadway after 16 penalties, as once again Mountinneers found themselves beaten finalists.

Golden Cross won the Division Four League Cup in a game with four penalties, but Shipston missed both of theirs with Brown converting two for the Cross. Further goals from James and Sibanda sealed victory, but the game was marred with an ugly incident at the end, which resulted in Golden Cross player James being dismissed.

Upton Snodsbury overcame Bretforton VIC to move closer to the Division One title, with goals from McManus (2), Aldington, Wood, Cunningham and Downing. The VIC replied through Simms, Payne and Gregory.

Goals from Trainor and White gave Subsidiary Cup finalists Mickleton Rangers the points at Moreton Wanderers.

In Division Two, Offenham Rovers and Red Horse both won to set up a promotion decider this Sunday. Rovers defeated Peopleton with Nick Burrows scoring twice, while a Sullivan strike gave Red Horse the points at Salford Rovers.

Doubles from Bate and Haines helped Lower Moor United to victory over Pebworth, who are condemned to relegation.

The Evesham Mechanical Services Subsidiary Cup final is on Sunday at Broadway United between Mickleton Rangers and Salford Rovers, kick-off 6pm.
