FAIRFIELD Villa paid the cost of an under strength team as they were hammered 5-1 at home by Blackheath.
Cliff Hughes' side was missing six regular players for last Saturday's Midland Combination division one clash at the Recreation Ground.
Villa, who have now played four games in seven days, even had the lead on 20 minutes when Jon Slade brought the ball down on his chest before playing in Ray Peters to score from close range.
But five minutes later the visitors levelled through Ross May.
Five minutes from the break, Blackheath took the lead at 3-1 with goals from Davion Kelly and defender John McGrath.
As the game wore on, Villa began to tire, allowing the visitors two late goals from Chris Bradbury and Kelly.
