ALMOST half a century ago Frank Sinatra, Jean Simmonds and Marlon Brando starred in the original silver screen version of the classic musical Guys and Dolls.
Now, the Bromsgrove Operatic Society is preparing to stage their version of the hit show at the Spadesbourne Suite, next month.
Based on Damon Runyan's short story 'The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown', it is a romantic tale set in the seedy New York gambling underworld during the 1950s.
With music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, it features hit songs such as Luck be a Lady Tonight and audiences are guaranteed a highly enjoyable evening.
It will run from Monday, May 12 until Saturday, May 17 with all shows at 7.30pm.
The Burcot Lane venue will feature tiered seating, a licensed bar and free car parking for ticket holders.
Tickets, priced £8.50 and £9, are available by calling 01527 836379 or 0121 445 3120.
The Bromsgrove Operatic Society formed in 1980 and has grown in popularity and strength since. They have staged 25 shows including The Mikado (2002), and Calamity Jane (1996).
They are always ready to welcome new members into the group, particularly young male singers, and further information can be obtained by visiting www.tomh.demon.co.uk/bos
