LICKEY Monarchs finished the Bromsgrove and Redditch Table Tennis League season in typical fashion with a 10-0 whitewash victory at SPSP.

Runners-up Carter Retail A also had a comfortable 8-2 win at home to West Midland Phones B despite the Phones leading 2-1 at one stage.

Mark Fiddian won his three games for Carter with Mick Kendall and Gary Jackson getting two each before the pair won the doubles. Roger Ellerington and Don Shillingfor, got one each for the Phones.

Barnt Green A defeated West Midlands Phones A 9-1. Skipper Mark Cornish and Jason McFall were both unbeaten for Barnt Green with Ian Scott getting two.

Droitwich B started well against Astwood Bank with Pete Wozniak and Phil Harris winning their opening games to get a 2-0 lead but they lost the next eight. Ken Southwell starred for the Bank, winning all his games, with Jim Connor and Nigel Anson getting two each and the doubles.

In division two Studley Road Terriers were edged out 6-4 by Carter Retail C. Dot MacFarland was the star for Carter winning all her games with Brian Askey getting two.

Hillcrest won 7-3 at Carter Retail B. Captian Alan McLoughlin stood out for Hillcrest with three victories and Graeme Farrall getting two.

The other two games in the division saw Studley Road Nomads beat Droitwich C 9-1 and West Midland Phones C whitewash Studley Road Bulldogs 10-0.
