BROMSGROVE Swimming Club finished third as they embarked on their Mercian Summer League campaign last Saturday.
In the individual races, Lucie Edmunds won the U14s girls 100m backstroke in a personal best time of 1 minute 12.9 seconds while Adrian Rose followed swiftly with an easy victory in the boys event. Rose also went on to finish second in the 100m freestyle.
Jessica Leech and Lizzie Sydenham took second places in the U10s 50m freestyle and U14s 100m butterfly respectively.
The open boys' 100m backstroke was won effortlessly by Simon Smith in 1min 5.55secs and Claire Taylor achieved a personal best time in the girls' heat.
Success ran rife with the girls as Amy Marshall took first place in the U14s girls' 100m freestyle in 1min 10.66secs and Katy Masters strolled to the U10s girls 25m butterfly in a spectacular time of 18.78secs.
Another triumph for the girls came in the shape of Loren Harrison, who won the U14s girls 100m breaststroke.
The relays concluded the gala. Nicola Taylor led the open girls 4x1 medley team of Amanda Swan, Louisa Ball and Lisa Newport to victory.
Simon Smith, Matthew Hunt, James Alton and Richard Davidson took the open boys 4x1 medley and freestyle relays.
Worcester won the event, ahead of Nuneaton.
