LUDLOW Borough Flying Club sent 70 birds to Frome. Liber-ated at 9.20 into a south east wind, it turned out to be a very fast race with a decimal point splitting the first two birds.

LUDLOW Homing Society members raced from Mangots-field on Saturday. Liberated at 10.45 in a strong south wind the first seven birds averaged over a mile a minute to fly the 62 miles home. Trevor Hughes timed the first bird just beating Phillip Nicholas.
