Ludlow Cycling Club once again won the 'Cider Prize' for most finishers in the Hereford and District Wheelers 25 mile time-trial.
For the past few years the Ludlow team has entered as many riders as possible and winning the prize has almost become a tradition for the club.
A drizzly day greeted the competitors on the hard Weobley course, but Barry Charley of Stourbridge CC saw no reason to slow down and posted a new course record by winning the event in a time of 54 mins 03 secs.
Fastest Ludlow rider was Chris Williams, with Phil Weaver (pictured beflow)also putting in a strong ride after his excellent result (19th) in the Wyre Forest Super Hilly Time Trial only two days before. The ride obviously did him well as he bettered seasoned time-triallers from all over the area riding a standard road bike instead of the dedicated time-trial machines commonly used.
Full Ludlow results were: Chris Williams, 1:01:10; Phil Weaver, 1:05:20; Gary Biggs, 1:08:09; Chris Lines, 1:08:43; Steve Butts, 1:14:26; John Hall, 1:14:31; Phil Smart, 1:15:57; Geoff Hudson, 1:18:15; Mick Davey, 1:23:06. Full results and club information on : www.ludlowcyclingclub.org.uk
