WEDNESDAY CLUB: Having enjoyed a talk about garden birds by Bert Coleman and armed with cups of tea and slices of cake, members of the club were in a relaxed mood for the AGM. After a review by the President of the busy Jubilee year, the treasurer gave a most heartening report on the finances. Ellie was sincerely thanked for her careful husbanding of the club's money - and members were reminded to pay their £2 subs for the year. The Lace-Williams picture was awarded to Colin Waterman for service above and beyond the call of duty in the club's interests. The committee was unanimously re-elected. Details of future events were given, the next being an entertainment by Peter and Jeannette Cook at the meeting on May 14 at 3pm in the village hall.
