Joined Harriers on a free transfer until the end of this season after being released by rivals Cheltenham Town.

McAuley played 100 league games and scored nine goals for Cheltenham over nearly four campaigns, including 25 games in Division Two, but fell out of favour under new boss Bobby Gould.

He joined the Robins for £20,000 in 1999 from Leek Town where he was their top scorer in the Conference.

However, since his days as a striker, the Plymouth-born player has reverted to a midfield position or a role just behind the forwards.

McAuley brings class and composure on the ball though he is not noted for his defensive abilities or strength.

League appearances/goals: Cheltenham (99/00) 39/4, (00/01) 35/3, (01/02) 7, (02/03) 19/2.

This season: 4 substitute appearances. Out of contract in the summer.

Status: Substitute.
