I COMPLETELY disagree with the remarks made by Margaret Bradley (Shuttle/Times and News, April 17) that Kidderminster is a "hopeless mess".
In the last few years, Kidderminster has made great strides.
We have Crossley Park, B and Q, the lovely new library, college, and soon Weavers Wharf.
What would she rather have, these or a collection of disused industrial buildings?
If the civic society wants to keep the Piano Building, are they prepared to put their money where their mouths are and pay for its refurbishment?
I remember going to a civic society meeting at the Corn Exchange when Weavers Wharf was at the planning stage.
They told the planning officer: "We don't need or want another supermarket."
The planning officer replied: "no supermarket, no development".
Tesco have now been open for a year and none of the existing supermarkets have had to close down.
Surely this answers that statement.
I personally am more concerned with all the vacant properties.
How long have the two units by the Royal Bank of Scotland not been taken up? Is it 10 years?
Then there are all the vacant industrial premises along Stourport Road.If no-one wants them why not use them for housing?
