AFTER reading the letters regarding motorcyclists parking at Severnside North, Bewdley, I would like to point out it is the only stretch of riverside where residents and visitors can bring their children to view and feed wildlife in safety.
That is why, a few years ago, the county council spent £90,000 making Severnside North "olde worlde". It was supposed to be the main attraction to draw visitors into the town.
Last autumn, when this road was re-opened, we were asked by some police officers to keep phoning about motorcyclists so it might result in getting more officers drafted in.
We all know the priorities very well. We do not want police officers wasting taxpayers' money chasing people who park on yellow lines. We just want this road pedestrianised on Saturdays and Sundays.
The fact is that we residents are getting all the flack from a war of wits which is going on between the police and the county highways department.
The police would like the road pedestrianised, but the highways department are adamant the police should police it.
