Evesham Utd Robins U-9 2,
Peopleton 0
ROBINS ended the season on a victorious note by winning the Ambassador Cup final in a tight game against a spirited Peopleton side.
In front of a large crowd the first half was even with chances few and far between.
The nearest either side came to a goal was a shot from James Coldrick that was tipped over by the Peopleton goalkeeper.
Robins began to gain the upper hand in the second half and eventually took the lead when David Stringer bent a right foot shot into the far corner from the edge of the box.
Peopleton battled hard to get back on level terms but the few chances that fell went to United who sealed victory when Mark Washington successfully finished off a one-on-one with the keeper.
In addition to their cup success, the Robins also picked up league runners-up medals having been pipped for the title by Bredon Colts.
Littleton Jnrs U-12 2,
Inkberrow Eagles 1 (aet)
LITTLETON completed a league and cup double with a hard fought win in Saturday's Ambassador League Cup Final.
Littleton started brightly and took an early lead when a pass from Ben Johns found Ryan Clarke who outpaced the defence and calmly placed the ball wide of the advancing keeper.
Johns then hit the bar with and Matt Goss an upright as Littleton piled on the pressure.
The Eagles held firm and gradually worked their way into the game.
The second half again saw Littleton enjoy most of the possession but their opponents continued to defend resolutely.
With time running out, Inkberrow found an equaliser when a mistake saw a striker fire an unstoppable shot past Sam Bastow to take the game into extra-time.
Littleton continued to press and Matt Smith was unlucky to see his shot come back off a post.
In the second period, a typical driving run and inch-perfect cross from Goss found Luke Lowerson who calmly brought the ball under control before firing the winning goal into the net.
Ombersley Colts 2,
Evesham Colts U-14 2
QUITE a few Evesham players took home an ache or two after what proved to be a physical contest.
Ombersley opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time and were denied a second when Phil Edgeworth dived to his right to produce a superb penalty save.
This seemed to lift Evesham who took the game to their opponents and were rewarded when Will Gayton finally beat the keeper to level.
Ombersley hit straight back to regain the lead with minutes of normal time left..
However, the referee added 12 extra minutes and Evesham snatched a deserved draw courtesy of a superb strike from Patty Watson.
Edgeworth's fine efforts earned him the player of the match vote.
Charlton Rvrs Blues 2,
Badsey Rgrs U-15 6
RANGERS signed off for the season with a solid display and the result was never in doubt once goals from Scott Virgo and Daryl Ballard had made it 2-0 early on.
Virgo then made it three and completed his hat-trick after the break when Badsey found the going tough against a strong wind.
Blues hit back but Rangers scored a fifth when Daniel Ford found the net.
The deficit was again reduced to three as Charlton scored a second but Sam Linley had the final say with his side's sixth from the penalty spot.
Virgo and Joe Whittaker shared the player of the match award.
