Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League
BROADWAY United Reserves became the first team to win an internal trophy on penalties when they lifted the Bluck Cup in a superb final at Common Road on Sunday.
Before a large crowd, Broadway started brighter but failed to take chances until five minutes into the second half when Roulstone finally found the net.
However, with time running out, Mountinneers conjured up an equalised from a free-kick to take the game into extra-time.
Broadway regained the lead when substitute Alcock headed home only for Churchman to equalise almost immediately.
The penalty shoot-out was eventually won by Broadway after 16 penalties and once again Mountinneers found themselves beaten finalists.
Golden Cross lifted the Division Four League Cup in another cracking game of four penalties and a sending off.
Unfortunately, section runners-up Shipston missed both their spot-kicks, while Brown converted two for the undefeated league champions.
Further goals from James and Sibanda sealed a 4-0 victory that ended with Golden Cross's victory being slightly tempered by the late dismissal of James.
Upton Snodsbury overcame Bretforton VIC to move closer to the Division One title thanks to goals from McManus (2), Aldington, Wood, Cunningham and Downing. Simms, Payne and Gregory replied for the losers.
Goals from Trainor and White gave Subsidiary Cup finalists Mickleton Rangers the points at Moreton Wanderers.
Offenham Rovers and Red Horse both won to set up a second division promotion decider on Sunday.
Rovers comfortably defeated Peopleton with Nick Burrows scoring twice, while a second half Sullivan strike gave Red Horse the points at Salford Rovers.
Doubles from Bate and Haines helped Lower Moor to victory over Pebworth, a result that condemned the losers to relegation.
The Evesham Mechanical Services Subsidiary Cup final between Mickleton and Salford takes place at Broadway United FC on Sunday (6pm).
