WYCHAVON residents could have an extra voice at county hall following a review of Worcestershire's electoral arrangements over the next few years.
The review, being carried out by the Boundary Committee for England, aims to make sure that every county councillor represents the same number of electors and will see subtle changes in boundaries.
Worcestershire County Council has submitted proposals to the committee which could result in an extra division - therefore and extra county councillor - for Wychavon.
The Wychavon district, which has 22 per cent of the county's voters, would be split into 12 divisions three of which would represent the Vale. These would be Evesham North (Evesham North, Harvington and Norton, Offenham and Aldington); Evesham South (Evesham South and Bengeworth); and Evesham West (Little Hampton, Great Hampton, Charlton, Cropthorne and Fladbury).
Other divisions would include Bredon Hill, Broadway, Littletons, Pershore, Inkberrow, Bowbrook and three areas of Droitwich.
A copy of the draft proposals can be seen at local libraries or on the county council website (www.worcestershire.gov.uk) and anyone wishing to submit their view should do so in writing before May 19th to the Project Leader (Electoral Review), Corporate Services, County Hall, Spetchley Road, Worcester.
