THE biggest rugby festival of the season brought runners-up medals for Kidderminster Carolians U-9s at Luctonians.
More than 1,000 children represented 17 clubs at the Sypol Anglo-Welsh Mini Festival.
KCs' U-10s and U-11s failed to progress to the knock-out stage but the U-9s did well after drawing with Hereford.
They won three games to take the group with Luke Taylor (four), Julian Petitjean (two), Charles Newbould (two) and Sam Bills (two) scoring tries.
KCs fought back from being 10-0 down in the semi-final with Pontyclun, thanks to tries from Taylor and Bills, before eventually winning on the flip of a coin.
Petitjean was the only scorer as KCs lost the final 20-5 to Rhiwbina.
The U-8s defeated Worcester A 10-0 on their way to finishing runners-up in the group and booking a semi-final place.
But they lost 25-15 to Brecon, despite tries from Luke Hanniford, Luke Mundi and Jordan.
