BOSSES at the troubled Bewdley Museum are calling for townsfolk to attend a crucial meeting on Wednesday to find out how they can help it to survive.

The future of the museum, which has been hit by funding problems from sole trustee Wyre Forest District Council, will be a chief topic of discussion at the annual meeting of the museum society on Wednesday.

Museum service manager Carol Bowsher said more volunteers would need to come forward to help out and membership of the society increase to make a difference to the attraction on Load Street.

She said: "It has been a critical time during the last 12 months for the museum and we anticipate it will continue to be until a five-year plan is appointed by the council."

The meeting will take place at Bewdley Baptist Church at 7.30pm.
