A CD of wartime memories from Wyre Forest has made more than £3,000 in a six-month campaign - and there's still plenty more copies left in reserve.
Orders poured in after the Jubilee Year CD was featured in the Shuttle/Times & News in October and the initial print run of 1,000 sold out. It raised £3,094 for the Royal British Legion.
Organisers in Kidderminster doubled the run - but then found some people who had placed orders bought the CD elsewhere.
"The response was immense and we printed 2,000," said Simon Blunt at i4 Media who produced the CD. "Then we found people who had pre-booked one had bought it from a store. We've only sold 21 of the second run so we've got more than 900 left."
He said it was now hoped to use the idea regionally and organisers would be discussing a national wartime CD with the British Legion.
The 11 interviews feature a land girl, codebreaker, experiences of a Japanese PoW camp and the battle at Arnhem, with a military soundtrack.
"The response has been great," Mr Blunt said. "People love the CD. We may bring out a second edition but we want to distribute the rest of the ones we've got first."
The CDs include a poppy design and a booklet with photographs of the veterans. The CDs can be obtained for £4.99 from Fagin's bookshop in Kidderminster or by calling 01562 865444.
