TENANTS of six new bungalows recently completed in Kempsey are all people who belong to the village or have a connection.
The two-bedroom bungalows provided by the Elgar Housing Association have been built next to the Firs sheltered housing scheme, in a controversial move that was opposed by Kempsey Parish Council.
The homes have been designed to complement the sheltered housing and all the new tenants have now moved in.
"This scheme is aimed at independent elderly people and provides much needed new housing in Kempsey," said Richard Grounds, commercial director of Festival Housing Group, which includes Elgar.
