AT the annual church meeting of Holy Trinity Bosbury, the Rev Sue Strutt paid tribute to retiring treasurer, Edward Lane.
Through his careful stewardship over a period of 47 years in the post, the fabric of the building, the financial position of Holy Trinity and its Christian witness in Bosbury and the surrounding area, continue to be in good heart.
On behalf of the parochial church council, Rev Strutt presented Edward with a token of their appreciation for his unstinting effort and support over the years. The new church treasurer is Nat Hone.
Retiring church warden Liz Clutterbuck takes over the post of secretary to the PCC and she was warmly thanked for her work as church warden over the years. Lynne Ardrey was re-elected as church warden.
A confirmation service for the Hop Churches Group will take place on Sunday, May 18 at 10am at Holy Trinity. It will be conducted by the Right Reverend Michael Hooper, Bishop of Ludlow. Everyone is most welcome. On Sunday, May 4 at 11am there is a service with baptism.
Bosbury WI meet in the Parish Hall at 7.30pm on Thursday, May 8 for a talk on Dispelling the Myths by Mrs V Fortey.
The Old Chapel, Bosbury is the venue for a fundraising coffee morning and bring and buy. The money raised will be shared between Red Cross and Christian Aid. It is on Saturday, May 10 at 10.30am.
The annual general meeting of Bosbury Parish Hall will be held in the hall on Thursday, May 15 at 7.30pm. Residents of the age of 18 years and over of the parish of Bosbury are entitled to attend. Business to be conducted: to receive the report and accounts and to appoint the officers and members of the management committee.
