A BUILDING on the corner of Court Street and Old Street in Upton could be turned into a pizza cafe.
The site is currently occupied by second-hand clothes shop Change of Direction and the offices of Anchor Preservation.
Owners David and Sue Walker have sold the building to an undisclosed Worcester-based buyer who runs several pizza cafes across the region.
Mr and Mrs Walker have applied to Malvern Hills District Council for change of use permission. The part of the building occupied by Change of Direction, which closed this week, would become the eating area with the offices of Anchor Preservation being turned into the kitchen.
Mr Walker said Anchor Preservation would operate from the couple's Upton home and that the public should see no difference in the way it was run.
"Trade at the shop was affected by the hospice charity shop next door and we decided enough was enough," he said.
Council planners will examine the proposals over the coming weeks before a decision is made.
If all goes to plan, Mr Walker said the premises should change hands during June or July.
