A PROCESSION of folk dancers and musicians will close Old Street in Upton as part of the town's 15th annual Folk Festival.
The road will be shut from noon to 12.45pm on Sunday as the procession makes its way to Waterside, following an 11am service at the parish church.
The three-day festival, organised by Upton Folk Dance and Song Society, begins today (Friday) and continues until Bank Holiday Monday (May 5). It features a variety of free family entertainment, including morris dance sides from all over the country performing by the riverside, a mass dance on Saturday, the parade on Sunday, plus afternoon ceilidhs under the bridge.
There also be a street market all weekend and singalongs in Upton's many pubs. For those who buy a ticket there will be concerts, workshops and indoor ceilidhs.
Tickets for the weekend are £35 or £18 for children. A family ticket is £90.
