FIVE musical friends combine in a concert at Wellington Heath's newly refurbished Memorial Hall.
Sopranos Sue Black and Kate Bennett, basses David Bennett and Tim Cranmore, and pianist Geoff Kerr will present An Enchanted Evening of Music at 8pm on Sat-urday, May 10.
The concert features light contemporary classics by Gershwin, including Summertime and I've got Plenty of Nuttin, and Berlin's Sisters.
Popular operatic pieces by Mozart, Verdi, Lehar, Sullivan and Strauss will also be performed.
Sue Black's singing career has seen her perform as a guest soloist with brass bands, military bands and orchestras in the USA, South Africa, Germany and Holland. She also teaches music at Malvern College
A Lancashire farmer's daughter, her father did not see how music could be her choice of career and she never attended music school.
As a result she studied with private tutors and now her father enjoys coming to hear her.
After moving to Malvern to marry, Sue became an instrumental part of the Malvern Hills Opera Company, which eventually folded two years ago.
Geoff Kerr was also a member of the company, whose last performance was Don Giovanni atMalvern Theatres.
The Bennetts are both members of Cheltenham's Savoyards, a Gilbert and Sullivan group.
From Malvern, Tim Cranmore is a professional recorder maker.
Sue said: "He sells rec-orders all over the world. He's very talented and a very talented player."
Although Sue is normally a soloist, she has performed with the four previously.
"We always have a good time," she said. "We always enjoy ourselves."
Tickets are £6, £3 for children from hall committee members or Allan Wood on 01531 633698.
