YOUNGSTERS have been learning all about the importance of the environment and nature thanks to a gardening expert.
Mr Rotavator, famed for his television and radio appearances, was at the Alice Ottley Junior School, Springfield, showing the 120 pupils how a green-fingered future can be fun as well as helpful.
"It was a wonderful day," said the school's head Judith Layfield.
"Each of the girls got the chance to talk to him."
It was not the first time that Mr Rotavator had visited the school, having wowed the youngsters with his knowledge two years ago.
"He is fun to have around," said Miss Layfield.
"He imparts knowledge to them and educates in a really enjoyable way."
She added that the school did its utmost to encourage youngsters to learn about the outdoor life.
"We have two gardens, one which is more of a wildlife garden.
"It is something we take very seriously."
