ARSONISTS have broken into two vans in Worcester and set them on fire.
Fire crews were called to the scene at midnight last night to find a smouldering refrigerator van in a car park on Bromyard Road, St John's.
"There were no immediate signs of fire but there was a lot of smoke," said leading firefighter Shaun D'Oliveira, of Worcester's Green Watch.
But, on closer inspection, a fire was discovered in the driving compartment of one van and a second refrigerator van nearby had also been damaged by a blaze.
"The driving compartment of the one van was severely damaged and there was some damage to the second vehicle," said Mr D'Oliveira.
"It's very difficult to say how long the fire had been going because there was no one in the immediate area."
Police spokeswoman Kim Stain said investigations into criminal damage and arson were being carried out.
