MERCY, mercy, mercy. Rock 'n roll yourself to death, baby, because Emperor Rosko is back in town.
The high-octane American disc jockey, whose unique style gained his Saturday lunchtime show a cult following on Radio One in the 1960s, returns to Britain on Friday, May 9, for a one-off gig at The Bank House Hotel, Bransford.
Rosko will be appearing with his British buddy, Worcester record producer and radio station owner Muff Murfin, who shared the turntables with him all those years ago.
Since leaving Britain to return home to Los Angeles in the early 70s, Rosko has continued in radio and also been involved in film production.
His real name is Mike Pasternak and he is the son of the late Joe Pasternak, one of Hollywood's all-time great film producers.
The Emperor brought his disco show to the Bank House several times in the 60s and 70s, wowing the packed crowds with his ear splitting presentation of soul and rock tracks.
"People have been on to me for ages to get a reunion show organised and now at last its happening," said Muff.
"It promises to be a great night and I can tell you Rosko's really looking forward to it."
Tickets are available now at £8 each from Worcester Aerials (01905 20751) or the Old Smithy Recording Studios (01905 820659).
