BROMSGROVE Rovers were named team of the year at the Bromsgrove District Sports Council awards.
The team has enjoyed a successful two years since chairman Tom Herbert took over at the Victoria Ground.
Mr Herbert saved the club from extinction and since then, under managers Gary Hackett and Jon Ford, has seen the side win promotion from the Midland Alliance.
This season the team has finished third in the Dr Martens Western and for a long time was in line for its second successive promotion.
But the past few months have also been heart-wrenching for the club as they mourned young striker Ashley Read, tragically killed in a car accident in February.
