WYTHALL police are appealing for information after a woman fought off a man who tried to grab her handbag.
It happened last Monday at about 6.15pm when the woman was walking along Lee Road, in Hollywood.
She became aware of a man, who then ran up behind her and grabbed her handbag.
The woman held on to the bag's strap and there was a tussle between the two.
The strap broke and the attacker let go and ran off. He got into the passenger seat of a white estate car, possibly a Peugeot, and then sped off.
He is described as white, 18-19 years, 5ft 8ins and of stocky to medium build.
He was wearing a dark woolly hat and a tracksuit top and bottoms which were light blue or grey.
Anyone with information can call Pc Tony Harvey on 8457 444 888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
