WORCESTERSHIRE soon lost Stephen Peters after they were put into bat by the Worcestershire Cricket Board in today's Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy Third round clash at New Road.
He was caught for four by Chris Pearce off Imran Jamshed in the third over.
Peters and Vikram Solanki had launched the County's innings against the pace attack of Jamshed and Gareth Williams.
Jamshed operating from the Diglis end, looked as if he was going to start with a maiden until his fifth delivery was confidently pulled for four by Peters. Williams' opening over yielded two runs for a no ball.
Jamshed, however, was successful in his second over when he tempted Peters into drilling a catch straight to Pearce at mid-on.
Peters was replaced by Graeme Hick who soon got off the mark with a leisurely single.
Shortly afterwards Jamshed made way for Justin Kemp who has played 14 one-day internationals for South Africa. He quickly came in for boundary treatment from Hick who was soon into double figures as the County reached 46-1 after 10 overs.
The Board's side included a number of players who have been connected with the County in recent years including Stuart Lampitt.
Skipper Ben Smith's Worcestershire were unchanged from the team that lost by one wicket in a tense National League match against table topping Surrey at New Road on Monday.
