THE big village derby between Exhall and Wixford and Bidford was the only match to be abandoned because of the weather in the Cotswold Hills League Premier Division.
Both sides picked up five points for the abandonment and will be hoping to start play on Saturday when Exhall and Wixford visit a Tanworth side who lost their opening fixture and Bidford host Stratford Bards - who beat Kineton in their first match (both 2pm start).
Alcester and Ragley Park sit joint top of Division One after an eight wicket win over Bretforton.
The match was reduced to 36 overs because of rain and Nick Chadbourne and Sean Quirke reduced the hosts to 26-6 after 14 overs before they rallied to 111-8.
After a steady opening stand of 30, Quirke and Mark Fawthrop's wickets fell quickly but Dave Swinburn (28no) and Gary Strain (31no) carried the visitors home.
Alcester host Rowington on Saturday (2pm start).
Great Alne's match at home to Ashton-under-Hill was one of three fourth division matches which were abandoned.
The villagers visit Earlswood II's on Saturday (2pm start).
