HAVING read Gerald Harris's remarks (You Say, Saturday, April 26) about the reopening of the Swan Theatre, he has a paltry excuse in saying that the theatre had problems and lack of funds in the past.
The answer was in his hands when he was there as chairman. If he hadn't wasted money on building a bar upstairs and kept moving the sweet counter, among other things, there would have been more money available for refurbishing the dressing rooms and backstage area and improving other areas.
Instead of complaining all the time about limited resources and funding about the past, why doesn't he just look forward to the future and wish Chris Jaeger and the Swan Theatre good luck?
I wish Chris Jaeger and the theatre the best of luck in the future as we who support it all do.
N M DUNKLEY,
Worcester.
