The society hosted a social evening during March at the village hall when a small but enthusiastic attendance took part in a quiz which was presented by David Rea. The high-scoring teams of Alice Bates and Alice Harrison contested a nail-biting tiebreaker to establish the Harrison trio as eventual victors. The evening was a pleasant and successful occasion, with a generous raffle, good refreshments and much laughter.
The society's Spring Show was held on April 5 in the village hall, which was transformed into a place of fragrant and colourful flowers, bulbs and shrubs. The photographic classes were well supported, also the cookery and handicraft classes. The children of Wychbold First School exhibited a splendid display which was much admired, and they were able to congratulate their head teacher, Eleanor Sinton, on winning both the flower club cup and the president's prize for the best exhibit in the show; David Rea - the Dolly Wilson Cup; Sophie Saunders - the Peter Walker Cup for the Children's Class; Stephen Tulett - Webbs Garden Centre Award for Daffodils (two each of five varieties). A pleasant ceremony then took place with the presentation of a basket of golden flowers to Peggy Poultney (tireless committee member) to mark the golden wedding anniversary of herself and her husband.
