A TWINKLE-toed teenager will be bidding 'au revoir' to Droitwich Spa when she jets off to dance at Disneyland, Paris, this summer.
Eighteen-year-old Katy Bourne, from Witton Avenue, was delighted when she was picked out from hundreds of other dancers to be part of the entertainment at Europe's best-loved theme park.
She has trained in ballet and modern dance for eight years and is a pupil of Jane Chance at the Crescent Ballet School in Worcester.
Her audition for the part took place at the prestigious Saddler's Wells Ballet School in London and told the Advertiser/Messenger she was 'over the moon' to be offered the part.
"I will be doing character work, such as dressing-up as Minnie Mouse as well as taking part in the famous parade," she said.
Currently sitting A Levels in theatre studies, English and French at Droitwich Spa High School, Katy will be jetting off to the city of romance on August 5.
"I am not sure what will happen about my A Level results as I will be away when they come through, I guess I will have to get someone to collect them for me and read them over the telephone," said the Briar Mill Road school student.
The contract is open ended and Katy hopes it will lead to an illustrious career as a dancer.
