WELL below half of voters had their say on the leadership of Droitwich Spa.
Overall turnout was just 37 per cent, matching the national trend, with 33,000 residents across the district voting.
Despite Wychavon's campaign to bolster turnout, and the introduction of postal votes, ballot boxes arriving for the count at Pershore Leisure Centre on Thursday, were only slightly heavier than in 1999 when turnout was 34 per cent.
New boundary changes certainly stepped up the competition across Wychavon, the number of wards fell.
