RESIDENTS have slammed Redditch Council chiefs for not attending an exhibition of the plans for a £50 million sports, leisure and entertainment complex on the site of Abbey Stadium.
The outcry comes after an event at Forge Mill Museum allowing the residents who will be most affected by the scheme to ask questions and air concerns.
But residents were left annoyed and angry because there were no representatives from the council, which is spearheading the project with developers Atlantic Beacon.
One Hither Green Lane resident, who did not wish to be named, said it was 'absolutely disgraceful' there was nobody there from the council.
Council director of cultural and development services Paul Patten said the scheme had not altered much since residents were given a presentation of the proposal two years ago.
