THEATREGOERS from Alcester will be able to see plays at the Royal Shakespeare and Swan theatres in Stratford at reduced rates over the next three years.
A scheme set up by Stratford District Council and the Royal Shakespeare Company, offering discounted tickets for everyone in the district council area, proved so successful that it has been extended.
Top price tickets at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre are reduced by £5, with tickets in the balcony costing just £3.50, and Swan shows are reduced by £2.
The offers are subject to availability and apply to evening performances on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
This season's shows include The Taming of the Shrew and Fletcher's The Tamer Tamed (starring Alexandra Gilbreath and Jasper Britton) and Measure for Measure (starring Emma Fielding and Paul Higgins.
To book tickets for shows telephone 01789 403403, or call in at the Box Office. A council tax bill will be required as proof of residence when collecting tickets.
