A LONG-standing battle to stop dog walkers taking their pets to a wood surrounding a Rowney Green residential centre for young people could result in legal action being taken.
Complaints from group leaders at Peck Wood, a private woodland given in trust for use as a young people's centre, resulted in walkers and dogs being banned two years ago.
They were unhappy that incidents involving dogs or the public, which led to them being on the premises, may have contravened safety regulations at the centre.
The ban, which followed a four-year legal battle over allegations of breaching the regulations, meant the area would be closed to everyone except those staying on the premises with their groups.
But although Peck Wood has only recently reopened for its 2003 season, a complaint about dog mess has already been made.
