At our meeting in April we discussed and voted on three resolutions that would go forward to the AGM at the Albert Hall, London.
The coffee morning in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care had raised £131 in just two hours - a very enjoyable morning.
We attended our Group Meeting hosted by Wythall WI and had a very enjoyable night listening to Betty Webb, who told us of her work at Bletchley Park during the war and then we were entertained by Drakes Cross ladies with wartime songs. A very nostalgic evening.
We were reminded of the Group Quiz hosted by Drakes Cross on Tuesday, April 29, and the Group walk led by Christine Grainger on Monday, June 23. It was announced that our skittles team had now won all five matches. Well done Pauline Giles and her girls.
Our next meeting would be our birthday meeting having reached 74 years as a WI and our speaker for the evening would be Jean Harper, tempting us with 'Delicious Desserts'.
The competition would be 'Your Favourite Dessert Recipe' - Weight Watchers here we come!
Visitors are always welcome at our meetings on the second Monday of every month (except August) at 7.30pm in Alvechurch Village Hall.
