A TRUE Pillock of the Community is appearing in a show of the same name when one of Britain's most talented character comedians comes to Tewkesbury.
Expect to be monitored by ex-security guard John Shuttleworth, star of BBC 2's 500 Bus Stops and four series of The Shuttleworths on Radio 4, who is ever on guard against rowdiness, even among his own audience.
Otherwise known as comedian Graham Fellows, John Shuttleworth is a 50-something DIY fan living in Sheffield with wife Mary (Graham Fellows), children Karen and Darren (Graham Fellows) and next-door neighbour Ken Worthington (Graham Fellows).
With the help of his portable synthesiser, he is on a mission to bring his songs to the people and give invaluable advice on everything from how to wash-up correctly to how to vacuum a bit of soil from the carpet which has spilled from a plant pot.
He will also be introducing some special guests - Brian Appleton "the one-man-band version of Spinal Tap" and Dave Tordoff, self-made East Yorkshire businessman.
As well as his success with John Shuttleworth, Graham Fellows has appearances lined up in an upcoming film, television series and radio show. A winner of the Manchester Evening News Award and the Edingburgh Critics Award, he will also be familiar to punk fans as the chart-topping Jilted John.
Catch him at The Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury, on Wednesday, May 14. Tickets (£12-£11 concessions) are available from the box office on 01684 295074.
