ANOTHER four years serving Stourport beckons for 91-year-old councillor Elizabeth Mills after she topped the Lickhill poll.
Mrs Mills - who has been on the town council continuously since its inauguration in 1974 - said she was happy to be back for another term even though she had not planned to stand again.
But a shortage of Tory candidates led to a change of mind.
"I wasn't really seeking re-election exactly but now I'm quite glad to still do my bit," said Mrs Mills.
"As long as I can go on doing this and people think they can still come to me I'll do my best."
Mrs Mills grabbed the limelight during the count on Thursday evening, which extended until the early hours, when she gave a television interview.
And the energetic nonagenarian, a former town mayor and chairman of Wyre Forest District Council, is not just a councillor - she works with Stourport Social Day Centre, St Bartholomew's Church and the Guides among other organisations.
"I'm very lucky that I keep well," she said.
