SWIMMING: Amy Smith recorded competition best times in two events for Wyre Forest Swimming Club at the Midland District Youth Championships.
The club had qualifiers in both individual and relay races in Coventry's 50-metre pool at the event for girls aged from 14 and boys over 15.
Smith, 15, gained her competition bests in the 50m and 100m freestyle events.
After being seeded 18th originally in Sunday's 50m contest, she was fastest qualifier over all the heats and won her 14/15 age group quicker than any other.
She went on to a skins event for the top-eight swimmers over 50m and made the final three.
Smith finished first in her age group in Monday's 100m as well as fifth places in the 200m freestyle and 100m backstroke and seventh in the 100m butterfly.
The teenager also finished 10th in the 200m backstroke.
Hannah Wear, 14, gained her highest placing of 18th in the 100m breaststroke but was also involved in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke, 200m breaststroke and 200m individual medley.
Emma Levitt was 28th in the 50m freestyle, while also competing in the 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle and 200m freestyle.
Richard Carter, 15, was second reserve for the final of the 100m butterfly for his age group, improving well on his seeding.
Ben Parry, 15, who swims for Stourbridge but trains with Wyre Forest, swam in the 100m freestyle.
The relay teams all produced personal bests for the swimmers although none of the teams won a medal.
