A GRANDMOTHER has won a court order banning her former daughter-in-law from contacting her.

Kathleen Roper, of The Glebe, Abberley, applied for an interim injunction against Elizabeth Roper which was granted by Worcester County Court on April 29.

The court heard that mother-of-two Elizabeth Roper was trying to discover the whereabouts of her eldest son and had contacted Mrs Roper for information.

But Glenn Willetts, representing Mrs Roper, said the inquiries had caused her distress.

"She can't assist in the matter and doesn't know where her eldest grandson is," said Mr Willetts.

"She doesn't want any direct, or indirect, contact from the defendant," he said.

Elizabeth Roper, who lives in Devon and divorced Mrs Roper's son, Chris, three years ago, told the court that she only wanted to talk about her children.

She said her sons, Hugh, 17, and Guy, 22, had suffered since the divorce of their parents.

"What I want is to sit down with Kathleen and talk about the damage my sons have suffered, she said.

Judge John Cavell granted the interim injunction.
